As the kids reach many milestones, I remember seeing the term in some pamphlet that said, “Be the Askable Adult.” In the terms of growing up. It kinda made me chuckle cause it makes me think of those after school specials on having difficult conversations with your kids.

I look back at my childhood and realize the many taboo subjects that were often skimmed and rushed through leaving questions that most often be hard to ask because of fear or shame.

So I had to think about what I would want for my kids and the main thing I’m trying to learn is to be “the askable adult” which is someone they can feel comfortable to talk about anything, no matter how taboo or difficult the conversation is.
